Adam is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine specialist based in London. He is also an Honorary Reader at University College London. He has worked in the UK and Australia and has spent over 20 years working with people who use drugs. He has published over 120 papers.

He is also Founder and Director of Global Drug Survey which runs the world’s biggest drug survey. Now in its 7th year the annual survey in translated into 14 languages and receives over 100,000 responses each year. GDS is self funded and independent of government funding, so free to explore the positive aspects of drugs as well as their harms. GDS is a network of people from diverse disciplines and cultures who are passionate and smart. GDS is nothing without their generous support and that of our global media partners. Our mission is to help people use drugs more safely regardless of the legal status of the drug.

GDS believes honest conversations and intelligent education can help people maximise pleasure and minimise the risk of harm. We work closely with media and nightlife groups to provide advice, training and support to help get information out that can help change lives and communities for the better.
